He takes the festival theme seriously, the German organist Daniel Beilschmidt, when wanting to play Arvo Pärts famous work “Spiegel im Spiegel”!

It was originally  written for violin and piano; but now Beilschmidt will perform it on the large organ in the Arctic Cathedral. Late Saturday night we hear a number of organ works, old and new – from Bach and Mendelsohn to Messiaen and Pärt. Daniel Beilschmidt is a university organist in Leipzig, Germany, and an active concert organist giving concerts around the world. He is also an active composer, and we get to hear his a few of his own compositions.

It is possible to buy an organ package – one ticket for the big organ day with an “Organ Safari” that takes place  the same day at. 14:00. Special price NOK 300 (NOK 150 for students).
