The Arctic Cathedral has become an extremely popular concert venue. The feeling of space and the exceptional acoustics with the cathedral-like echo make this an inviting venue. Noted national and international artists have discovered and value the cathedral and will gladly return.
Midnightsun concerts
The efforts of cantors, organists and other musicians have enabled the development of an exceptional event with daily concerts starting at 11:30pm � � the so-called Midnight Sun concerts. Every night at 11:30pm during the summer season, the Midnight Sun streams through the cathedral as the guests are treated to acoustic delights. What started as a hobby for the musicians has become a cultural event. Norwegian folk tunes and classical music is performed by different groups in the period from May 15 to August 15. Concert guests are assured of a varied and rich programme featuring solo performances, piano music, the sounds of trumpet or saxophone, old Nordic bell instruments or choir and organ music.
